By offering tailored strategies, insights and resources, the counselling process equips you as a family, as parents or as a single parent to successfully navigate your neurodiverse journey. 

Person-centered approach

Our Person-Centered Approach to counselling families with members on the spectrum or with developmental delays, Kirsten focus’s on understanding and valuing the uniqueness of each family member. We aim to create a supportive environment that encourages open expression and fosters understanding, acceptance, and growth. We listen actively and offer unconditional positive regard, tailoring our support to meet the specific needs and goals of each family. Kirsten’s goal is to empower families, enhance their resilience, and improve family dynamics, ensuring everyone feels seen and supported. We are dedicated to guiding families towards a more connected and fulfilling life together, celebrating the diversity and potential within each family.

Counselling Goals

Dependent on individual needs, counselling goals include:

– Helping you set up a home environment your child thrives in

– Help you understand and connect with your child

– Help you identify triggers to behaviours

– Couples Counselling & repair and restore fragmented relationships 

– Help you communicate and interact effectively with family members and your child

– Provide you with the tools and coping strategies to navigate neurodiverse parenting 

 

All counselling sessions are home-based in person (Helderberg area & surrounds) or offered remotely.
