Assessment & booking info

Before booking an initial meeting free of charge below, please take a moment to complete the child intake form. This intake form covers pertinent information regarding your child’s and family’s medical history, developmental concerns, and sensory-motor history. Our initial meeting is free of charge. Should I require any additional information, this will be discussed in the in-person or online meeting. 

The next step is the assessment with your child. The activities are child-led, interactive, and strength-based while assessing developmental concerns. During the assessment, the following main areas of development will be assessed: sensory functioning, cognitive, social, motor (including visual and oral), executive function, language, adaptive, and academic. Depending on your child’s age, this takes between 3 and 4 hours. 

If necessary and applicable, I will also perform a classroom observation and meet with your child’s teacher. 

After the analysis of the assessment, a detailed 1-hour verbal feedback session follows. You will also receive a thorough summary report based on the findings of the assessment 

Should your child require therapy, times will be arranged at the feedback session. As therapy is intensive, it’s usually structured for up to 2 hours several times a week. 

Codes and Costs:

We are a cash-based practice and contracted out of medical aid rates. We unfortunately do not negotiate with medical aid schemes to settle accounts. However, once you have settled your account with us, you can submit your account to medical aid and if applicable, claim back from them. The assessment fee is payable the day before your child’s assessment date.
